Zoom Blur: involves zooming in or out while you capture a photo, blurring the shot from the center. Making the image looks as if it is bursting towards you.

For the zoom blur assignment we had to go around the classroom and take pictures. To create the illusion effect I had my camera zoomed all the way in (50mm), focused on the object, then pressed the shutter button as I zoomed the lens out. In some of the photos it sorta provides an illusion and for me makes my vision spin, in other photos I thought it sorta made a certain word or object stand out while the rest was blurred.

For the ghosting assignment Devin, Maddie, and I worked together. The first thing we did was set up our tripod and focus it which is hard in the dark. Then of us would stand in front of the camera while someone else stood behind the camera and held the shutter release button for 6 seconds then however was in front of the camera would move out of the scene quickly, this created a motion blur that looks as if a ghost was standing there. We also did some ghosting with flashlight and moved to multiple locations while the shutter was open.

For the light painting assignment I worked with Devin and Maddie. To create this effect we had Devin hold the shutter release button while I drew around Maddie and her muscles. We also took turns drawing objects in the sky. We drew a star, flower, the number seventeen, scribbles, and I even took the flashlight with a red cover and lit up the front of my senior hoodie. All of these pictures worked, our images were crisp and clear and the only visible light is what we drew with our flashlight.
