Before Color Splash

After Color Splash

Before Filter Splash
After Filter Splash

In this assignment we learned how to use the selection tools in photoshop. These tools allow you to select only certain parts of an image and alter the rest of the unselected image. We were assigned to do 3 color splash images and 3 filter splash images. In color splash you make the image black and white leaving your selected part in color; I did this with cat eyes, a butterfly, and a flower. In filter splash you alter the image filter leaving only a selected portion normal; I did this with flowers and the american flag. In the first filter splash flower I made I selected the most noticeable flower and did a replace color effect on the rest of the flowers making them orange. In the second flower picture I selected the flower and added a color balance filter on everything else making the image purple. In the Woodmen tower picture I added a posterize effect to the building and left the American flag as the focal point. This assignment helped me learn about some more of the tools in photoshop and what they do.
